SENSIS RELEASES NEW MULTILATERATION AND ADS-B GROUND STATION

DEWITT, NY - October 4, 1999 - Sensis Corporation has released a new multilateration and ADS-B ground station as part of its Multistatic Dependent Surveillance (MDS) system. The low cost "Receiver Only" (RO) ground station receives, timestamps and decodes transponder signals and Automatic Dependent Surveillance -Broadcast (ADS-B) messages in a single compact unit. The new RO ground station can function alone as a low-cost ADS-B ground station or together with the existing "Receiver/Transmitter" (RT) ground station to provide transponder multilateration surveillance. Together the two ground stations enable significant improvements in both surface and air surveillance performance without requiring the installation of new avionics. The new RO ground station will be deployed this fall as part of a European Community Advanced Surface Movement Guidance and Control System (A-SMGCS) project as well as with all future MDS installations.
