Sensis Receives Contract to Expand Multilateration at Dallas Fort Worth AirportDEWITT, NY - August 27, 2000 - Sensis Corporation received a contract from the Federal Aviation Administration to expand
the Airport Target Identification System (ATIDS) multilateration at Dallas Fort Worth Airport. Sensis installed the original system, which
provided surveillance of the East side of the airport, during July 1999 as part of the Runway Incursion Reduction Program.
The expanded system will provide surveillance coverage of the terminal area and the entire airport surface giving accurate
position estimates and positive identification of all transponder equipped aircraft operating in runway, taxiway, ramp and
gate areas in all weather conditions.
The Sensis multilateration system is a commercial-off the shelf (COTS) product that detects and tracks aircraft equipped
with Mode S, ATCRBS and Automatic Dependent Surveillance – Broadcast (ADS-B) transponders. The expanded system
will include the addition of multilateration remote units, which are small in size and strategically placed to provide optimal
surveillance coverage. Remote units are housed in weatherproof enclosures simplifying installation and optimization procedures.
System installation is to be complete during the 4th quarter of 2000.
Additional Sensis multilateration contracts and installations include: Memphis Airport for the Federal Aviation Administration, Frankfurt
Airport for Flughafen Frankfurt/Main AG, Heathrow Airport for National Air Traffic Services and Toronto Airport for NAV CANADA. |
