SENSIS TO DELIVER ADS-B GROUND STATION WITH RANGE GREATER THAN 100 MILES AT LOUISVILLE AIRPORT, KYDEWITT, NY - February 24, 2000 - Sensis Corporation will deliver an Automatic Dependent Surveillance - Broadcast (ADS-B) ground station sensor capable of supporting both UAT and Mode S datalink to the Federal Aviation Administration as part of the Safe Flight 21 Program. The ADS-B sensor will have a range in excess of 100 miles. ADS-B equipped aircraft and vehicles automatically broadcast positional information - latitude and longitude, velocity, altitude, heading and identification - as determined by the avionics on board and the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS). The implementation of this sensor expands the ADS-B networked corridor from Memphis Airport, TN (Federal Express hub) to Louisville Airport, KY (United Parcel Service hub) with future expansion planned for Wilmington, OH (Airborne Express hub). Sensis is also providing the ADS-B network at Memphis Airport. Data will be output in the All-purpose Structured Eurocontrol Radar Information eXchange (ASTERIX) format for tower display applications. Installation is scheduled for August '00.
